Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI)

The Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) is a non-profit, multi-stakeholder organization that oversees independent third-party certification programs for the aluminum value chain. The ASI Certification program focuses on providing voluntary certification to two standards: the ASI Performance Standard and the ASI Chain of Custody Standard.

The ASI Performance Standards set out environmental, social and governance principles and criteria with the aim of addressing sustainability issues in the aluminum value chain. 'Manufacturing and Change' and 'Industry Users' must have at least one establishment certified to the ASI Performance Standards within two years of launching the ASI Certification Program or 2 years of Join ASI, whichever is later.
